Overview

Golfing, gambling and Gulf Coast beaches characterize Biloxi, Mississippi. Begin your stay navigating the water hazards on the rolling green courses of Sunkist Country Club. It’s been a local favorite since its Frank Stiedle-designed course opened in 1953. If you enjoy its 18 holes, then head over to Dogwood Hills Golf Club the next morning for a Southern style golfing experience. Located in Desoto National Forest, it’s a great excuse to enjoy local nature. Whether you visit in December or August, the temperature is always right for golfing in Biloxi.

In 1992 a couple of riverboats with slot machines and blackjack games started a gaming extravaganza. Gambling’s extreme popularity in Biloxi began attracting casino after casino until the region’s tourism industry was driven by the pastime. Today you can play poker, dine at restaurants and succumb to stress-relieving massages at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Harrah’s Gulf Coast or Palace Casino Resort. Margaritaville Casino & Restaurant Biloxi lures guests with delicious dinner and drinks and outdoor gaming at LandShark Landing.

If you have the family in tow or crave some sunny rays, then grab your bathing suit and towel and head to the Gulf. White sandy beaches and deep blue waters provide a soothing effect that’s cheaper than visiting the spa! Mississippi has 62 miles of shoreline to claim stake to. Start just west of Biloxi by visiting Pass Christian or Long Beach. Located in quiet residential neighborhoods, these beaches are perfect for magazine reading, sandy mid-afternoon naps and postcard-worthy strolls. Biloxi has a number of fishing piers, and experienced fishermen can take out charter boats for deep sea fishing. After hooking the catch of the day, sink into a plush booth at a local steakhouse or dine on fried catfish at a Southern restaurant. Word on the street is if you stay awhile, you’ll get it. So go ahead: give the Mississippi Gulf Coast a try.
